Public installations were:

April
20th     "Street  Cleaning service"

A lady cleans the floor of the parking lot in an absurd detailed manner. The intensive cleaning turns into a self absorbed action.
Cleaning the street with indoors house cleaning manners adds an absurd picture of Sisyphus similar endless efforts of the lady. Cleaning itself is nothing You can ever finish. Cleaning the street, to put sand there, which is supposed to be “dirt” becomes even more absurd. The material sand turns into dirt on the street. On the opposite it happens to be something beautiful and enjoyable at the water front. So the location where something is put at, changes the character and the position of the material.

"No Parking",
I build sand sculptures, which are going to be used as stopper for the car wheels, made out of sand. They will be distributed at least 6 cars. The car owners have o deal with the sculptures….

21st     "Brownie  parking"
Closely packed brown paper bags cover the whole surface of the parking lot, filled to the rim with sand.
The fragile bags turn into a massive sculpture and fill out the complete parking lot. The sand surface (picture of a beach) is to be seen from above only.

22nd   "Car  Pool",
A children garden pool filled with sand to the rim instead of water. The pool brings back the memory of happy hours in childhood. In the middle of traffic and in danger to be parked “over” it seems deadly vulnerable. This little island invites everybody to open his memory and phantasies in a daily run on the streets.

23rd    "How  are You?,
Performance of four people with beach bags, filled with sand. One corner leaks. The performer cross the street at the green light periods and meet in the middle, asking “how are You?”. The leak in the bag creates a time line of sand on the street. Waiting at the light the sand builds little time related mountains. The trace on the street is signature of the performance in time. During one hour the track on the street is going to be crossed continuousely be the cars. These take the sand and wipe it in a 90 degree angel into their direction of movement. An interactive drawing appears on the street, made out of sand.
(Corner traffic light Washington street and  Michigan Ave, )

24th     "Duck  spot",
20 yellow plastic ducks sit on a blue colored sand surface. This absurd picture of a playground for plastic ducks on the dangerous level of car wheels brings a new quality to the parallel worlds of technology and people in cities, especially on the street.

25th     "Relax",
In this performance I lay down on the ground of the parking lot. I become covered with sand. Standing up my negative shadow remains on the ground. This human shadow on the sand surface is the most fragile structure in this circle of performance/installations. The shadow symbolizing the soul of the person, the picture of me is now open to be “wheeled over”, because it is hardly to be seen from the perspective of a car driver, desperately surging for a parking lot.

26th    "My  Home is my castle".
A wooden fence claimes the ground covered with sand in the parking lot. Colorful painted it happens to appears at the beach to protect certain fragile environments at the place.

27th    Art  Fair:
"Street Cleaning service" Performance (parking space preparation), "Brownie Parking" (parking space)

28th    Art  Fair:
"Duck spot" (Parking lot), "Foreboding”, Performance

29th    "Foreboding",
In a meditative position I sit down on the ground of the parking lot. I will be covered with sand till I am not to be seen any longer. The cone of sand around me remains in the parking lot. May people peak into? Do they give comments on the nature of this cone? I will breath with a straw and be connected that way with the world….

30th    "Dinner",
A table and two chairs stand on a carpet. The table is decorated for a beautiful dinner. Candle and flowers in a vase, dishes, tables clothes, everything reminds on a indoor no displaced private celebration. The surface of the items of covered with sand………

May
1st       "Lasting  Neighbors enlightened",

Plastic shopping bags of neighborhood shops are filled till the rim with sand. These bag sculptures picture and capture the variety of the different kind of shops near the installation. Out of the sand balloons flight in the wind. The bags take over a complete parking lot.

2nd     "Flowering",
Real flowers in vases are set on the ground of the green colored sand surface. The sand covers the complete parking lot in a precise rectangular form.
This absurd picture of a romantic arrangement with flowers in vases on a “sand meadow” on the dangerous level of car wheels brings a new quality to the parallel worlds of technology and people in cities, especially on the street.
